PM&R/Physiatry

What Is Physical Medicine And Rehabilitation (PM&R)/Physiatry?

Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physicians (MD and DO) are trained to diagnose and treat various neurological and musculoskeletal conditions which cause pain and/or limit function.
They prescribe medications, orthotics/prosthetics, and therapeutic modalities. They perform injections and manual therapy. Above all, they will closely collaborate with therapy clinicians to restore function and optimize patient quality of life. Physiatrists are already mandated by CMS to have a presence in acute rehabilitation facilities.
Having Such Specialists In Your Post-Acute Care Center Will Therefore Go A Long Way In Taking Your Facility To The Next Level, Providing Truly High-Class Care And Attracting More Residents.
